Academic Program Review

Academic Program Review (APR) is a broader review of program outcomes than the annual assessment and is traditionally conducted every five to seven years based on each Schools’ requirements.

APR at the University of Richmond varies across Schools. The School of Business goes through a review every five years as part of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accrediting process. The School of Law undergoes a review every seven years as part of the American Bar Association accrediting process. Programs in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies undergo a review whenever a new strategic planning process is initiated, typically every three to five years. The School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Leadership Studies have initiated a rotating schedule of APR.

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (IFX) is able to provide data, where possible, to assist with APR. Some IFX data that has been requested and that may be useful for APR include, but are not limited to:

• Annual assessment reports
• Data from the institutional surveys
• Current student and alumni outcomes
• Other official data such as enrollments and graduation
